Hello! My name is Rachel and I am a freshman at the University of Illinois-UC. I have been babysitting since I was 12 years old and I love working with children! Other than babysitting, I have experience with kids as an assistant karate instructor, junior camp counselor, after-school child care teacher, preschool and childcare intern, and teaching assistant intern at an elementary school. I also took Child Development and worked as a student teacher in my high school’s in-house preschool.

I love coming up with fun things to do with kids and allowing them to explore things they would like to do, as long as it is within reason! I have experience working with children with serious allergies. I, myself, have a food allergy so I understand the importance of being aware of allergens. I also have experience with premature babies and children with asthma, behavioral issues, and religious dietary restrictions. I enjoy reading, watching tv/movies, playing the guitar and ukulele, baking, and going on walks and bike rides.

In terms of Covid-19, I do my best to follow the guidelines closely. My mom works with the elderly, so I am conscientious of taking necessary precautions and avoiding certain circumstances to ensure I stay safe. Overall, I aim to provide a fun and safe environment for kids!
