Hello parents! My name is Brianna. I currently work as an assistant teacher at L&L Academy in Lakeview. I have been working there since October 2022. I absolutely love my job and all the kids I get to work with on a daily basis. Im a floater, which means that I get to work with all of the age groups at the school. Our school provides care for infants that are 6-weeks of age all the way up to kids 6-years of age.
Aside from my current job, I have previously worked as a nursing assistant for 2 years on a med-surg floor at Evanston Hospital. I also have experience working as an assistant teacher in Pune, India during my gap year in 2019-2020. I am very grateful for such an amazing teaching experience. While it was challenging navigating language barriers and managing classroom of 40+ students with 1 lead teacher, it has shaped part of the teacher I am now. I took a Hindi class weekly and immersed myself in the culture as much as I could including living with a host family for 7 months. Before my gap year, I was a camp counselor at Soul City Church as a summer intern in 2019. I got to supervise small groups of 5-7 children when we went on fieldtrips around the city, and I often would manage small classrooms during the day. As far as personal experience, I have a 10-year-old niece that has been raised with her aunts close by her side. She has been the greatest teacher for me, and I love her very much.
