Hi there! I’m Ro, a recent Northwestern graduate. I love visual arts, the outdoors, and, of course, kids :). I’ve been babysitting for over six years, and have loved working with the bright, kind, and joyful energy of infants, toddlers, and preschool-age children. I’m so grateful to have been able to support church groups, family friends, and former professors with their childcare needs over the years, and I sincerely hope I can help you as well! I am fully vaccinated, double boosted, and very COVID conscious – I’d love to work with a family who is as well! I’m more than happy to (and in some cases may prefer to) wear a mask while indoors and in close contact with you and your family.

One of my core beliefs is that we can create a kinder, more just world by allowing each other to be fully human, mistakes and all. My beliefs, informed by restorative and transformative justice practices, provide the foundation for my interactions with others and especially children. I admire the way kids interact with the world, they’re unafraid to push boundaries and ask questions, and I believe that curiosity should be fostered without fear of punishment. Every opportunity can be a learning opportunity, especially for little ones experiencing so many things for the first time! The aforementioned justice principles reroute traditional consequence methods and allow space for curiosity, learning, growth, and accountability. In tandem with my positive discipline introductory training with Supernova Momma (Tash Nelson, Certified Positive Discipline Educator), I work to allow kids to just be kids knowing that they are just as complex and wonderful as any other adult, and require the utmost compassion and care that all of us deserve.

On the more practical side, I can cook, clean, and drive. I have my own bike and would love to ride with your kiddos if they’re interested!
