Hello!
My name is Elle, and I would love to meet you! I grew up in Seattle and moved to Chicago 2 years ago to attend Loyola University, where I am currently earning an anthropology major, a dance major, and a minor in women and gender studies. I started babysitting, nannying, and tutoring about 7 years ago when I was 15 and it has been one of my greatest challenges and joys because children are the best teachers there are.
Because safety is my top priority, I am trained in first aid, CPR, and I completed the American Red Cross babysitting certification course. I am a very creative and patient person. I love board games and painting and exploring outside even in the cold all bundled up.
I have 2 years of experience working at FORA (Foraging Opportunities for Refugees in America), where I was a tutor and mentor for some wonderful children ages 6 to 14. I taught math and english, made curriculums, bonded with kids, and and created a supportive and fun environment that emphasized effort as well as the importance of failure in any learning process.
I am an encouraging, loving, person who strives to have the same wonder for the world that children get to possess. It brings me so much joy to see a child fascinated by some small detail that most of us would not notice.
