Hello! My name is Jasmine Nealon. I have an associates degree in Social work. I have 3 years of child care experience as an assistant teacher. I am food handler, SIDS, shaken baby, mandated reporter, and CPR/First Aid. I also have an ECE level 1 credential. Ive had the pleasure of sampling this huge melting pot of diversity my entire life as a born and raised Chicagoan. I have had the good fortune of finding my way into some of Chicagos most esteemed classrooms. Most recently, I attended one of the City Colleges of Chicago where I earned an associates degree in Social Work with a keen interest in child development. I am the proud mother of a son. Being a mother is, without a doubt, one of my greatest and most enjoyable accomplishments. I also enjoy reading, traveling, fine dining, poetry, and clean comedy. Ive had the pleasure of working with children for nine years. When in the presence of children, I feel surrounded by beautiful little flowers that continuously bloom when they are loved and cared for. A generous outpouring of the following: love, concern, patience, structure, encouragement, and a frequent infusion of laughter (as the secret ingredient) is my perfect recipe for the development of a confident and thriving little human! When in the presence of children, I enjoy taking breaks from adulthood and we sing, dance, jump, read, and recite poems among many other things that make learning fun! Ive found that the best way to teach is to engage little children in a way, that doesnt feel like hard work but instead feels like play! Dr. John Trainer said, Children are not a distraction from more important work. They are the most important work. Not everyone is designed to work with children, however, I know Ive got what it takes because I give it all that Ive got and thats a lot!
