Hello! My name is Jessie Kopp. I am 25 years old and originally from Ithaca, NY. I currently live in the Gold Coast area and work for an investment advisory firm in downtown Chicago. Prior to moving to the Windy City, I attended the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY where I received a degree in Business Management and English Literature. When I am not working, I volunteer as a Wish Granter for the Make-A-Wish Chicago chapter and work on my attention & quick-thinking skills as a member of the Lawson Bridge Club. I am interested in a range of activities and am always seeking out new learning opportunities. Particularly, I love to explore the city, work out/play sports (golf and basketball specifically), practice my cooking skills, read, travel (whenever I can), play games (chess, Scrabble, Blokus, ping pong you name it!) and in general, live my life to the fullest. My involvement in Make-A-Wish has reignited my love and fascination with little and medium ones and coupled with a desire to spend my time more productively, I am keen to babysit again after an 8 year-long hiatus (with a few gigs in between).

I began babysitting at age 13 (it was my first job!) for a few families in the town I grew up in, which is about 20 minutes outside of Ithaca situated right on Cayuga Lake, the largest of the Finger Lakes. I adore kids of all ages and find them to be extraordinarily interesting, funny, and endearing. They truly have such unique perspectives and interpretations of life. Kids bring out the playful side of me, and I aim to make sure they feel valued and comfortable in my interactions with them. I love arts and crafts, games, frolicking outside, baking cookies, and reading books just as much as any 6-year-old, and I enjoy the quiet moments too which may be more suitable for a younger child. I also understand and remember the fun moments and growing pains of being a pre-teen and feel particularly sensitive (in the best way) to an older age group.

My friends and family would describe me as an introverted extrovert. By nature, I am extremely happy, optimistic, and forward-thinking, but a realist to my core. I appreciate and value hard work, timeliness, good morals (which has come with growing up), kindness and honesty. Trustworthiness is paramount in my life, and I live by the expression say what you mean, mean what you say, and do what you say youll do. I would consider myself to be naturally intuitive and sensing. I enjoy trying things outside of my comfort zone and would be comfortable in a room full of friends or strangers. As the oldest child of three girls, I have aimed to be an exceptionally good role model since I was young. As I mentioned earlier, I enjoy learning and get a kick out of a lot of arbitrary things, so you could count on me to foster a thirst for knowledge in your children if they dont already have it!

My goal is to play whatever type (and size) of role your family is seeking in a babysitter. My schedule is somewhat flexible during the week, but I am primarily looking for weekend time slots. I do own a car, which I can use to transport myself to and from your home.
