Marcelo Q.

My name is Marcelo, and I have always had a passion for caring for others; whether this is immediate family, close friends, loved ones, or younger cousins, I believe caring for another human being is the most important venture one can take in this life. I believe that care is compassionate, patient, understanding, curious, and open. It flows and adjust to the caretaker as well as the one who is being taken care of. I have worked with caring for elderly in assisted living, as well as working with adults in learning settings such as tours and museums. I have also co-led groups of students ranging from elementary to middle school during summer programs in my community. While I do not have direct experience with being a paid sitter, I have an extensive history of caring for people of all ages. For young ones, I have the most experience with those ranging from elementary school to middle school.

I currently work at a cultural institution as an intern and editor, and have a passion for the humanities. I majored in art and philosophy in my undergraduate, and plan to return (eventually!) for a masters in a writing-related field. Two of my domestic passions are cooking and cleaning; I love to make diverse, delicious meals and maintain a spotless living space. In my free time I write poetry and prose, go to the gym, watch movies, and scour the city for the best cappuccino.
