I grew up with 7 brothers and sisters, and was one of the primary babysitters for my family until my younger brothers and sisters grew up. During that time, as a teenager, I also worked for other families a paid babysitter, dogsitter, and “mother’s helper”. Later, in college, I continued taking babysitter jobs where available.

After graduating from university, I worked as a full-time teacher in Japan in elementary schools and junior high schools.
