I am a single mother of an 11 year old boy. I grew up in Greenwich and have lived in on the west coast, in Australia and England over the last 30 years. We have recently moved back to Ct to be closer to my family as my son grows up. We are currently staying with family in Darien while waiting to move into our new home in Southport in September. I’m used to having a lot of children in my home and am finding this downtime to be a little too quiet. I would be happy to take care of your children while you work, travel or just take some free time.
When I was younger, I often babysat and was a mother’s helper in the summertime. I was a psychology major with a concentration on child psychology and ran an art program at summer camp during university. Since then, my childcare experience has been (unpaid), but vast, taking are of nieces, my nephew, cousins, friends’ children and my own child & his friends. Our house in England was right on the local playground and football (soccer) pitch and we always had children in and out. I hosted regular Friday night pizza & football nights during the spring and summer months for his teammates as well having events like the annual year end BBQ & parent v child football (soccer) match at our home.
I have a flexible schedule during weekdays and weekends right now. If the time and situation works well, my son would love to come with me and play with other children around his age too. I have a safe, reliable SUV and and fully insured. I’m happy to take the children out to play in the garden, at the park or the beach, play board games or arts and crafts at home too. I limit my child’s screen time and am very happy for yours not to be on them while they are with me either.
I have a pediatric first aid certification which I am scheduled to update in the next week (July 18) soon.
I have local friend and family references in Darien, Fairfield, Trumbull and Greenwich and have a recent background check certificate too.
