I am a professional dance instructor for all ages and have also been a nanny for 14 years. Being that I am an artistic individual that loves to teach, working in childcare is very fulfilling. When I’m holding the responsibility of being a role model for children, I find it important to take every opportunity to teach everyday life skills and impart knowledge. My work duties in childcare are taking on the role of the household leader; taking initiative and/or requests to clean, cook, run errands, getting children to and from different locations, preparing for the next day, and keeping in communication with the parents on the daily events. I also find it very important to help a child be creative by staying active, creating things, and encouraging/showing how to use their imagination. My knowledge and love for childcare has been able to be utilized by many families, some with 3 children, and others with their first newborns and infants. I have watched all ages, with all different types of personalities, but see the importance in caring for the whole family like they are my own.
