Hello! My name is Jean Wong, and I am an experienced arts educator with a passion for nurturing creativity and fostering holistic development in children. With over a decade of experience in various educational settings, including homes, schools, and museums, I specialize in early childhood arts education (K-3).

During the academic year, I serve as a visual arts teaching artist in elementary schools, where I engage young minds through immersive artistic experiences. Additionally, I am a Teach with GIVE trainer, empowering educators with inclusive arts education models to create enriching academic environments for students of all learning abilities.

My approach to childcare centers play- and arts-based activities as powerful tools for fostering literacy, social, and emotional development. I hold a BA in Studio Arts and Art History (double major) from Bard College and an MA in Modern and Contemporary Art: Critical and Curatorial Studies from Columbia University, providing me with a robust academic foundation to support children’s creative exploration.

I am dedicated to creating inclusive spaces where every child feels valued and supported. Through training in inclusive curriculum design, trauma-informed practice, restorative circle practice, and liberative learning models, I ensure that my caregiving practices prioritize the well-being and individual needs of each child.

I am enthusiastic about working with children ages 5-9 who have a passion for creative and literary pursuits. Whether it’s exploring the wonders of storytelling, diving into artistic endeavors, or embarking on imaginative adventures, I am committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can thrive.
