With a rich background in cultivating positive experiences for children and effectively managing household responsibilities, I am confident that my unique skill set aligns seamlessly with the requirements of this role.
My journey into childcare and education began five years ago when I had the privilege of designing and implementing an after-school fashion program for middle schoolers within the New York City public school system. Leveraging my degree in culture and media, I developed a comprehensive curriculum that not only introduced students to various facets of the fashion industry but also empowered them to create their own ventures. Over two years, the program flourished from 15 to over 100 students, achieving both brand and personal success for the participants.
Upon relocating to California, I faced the challenges brought about by the pandemic, especially for working parents managing remote work, household responsibilities, and their children’s online schooling. Recognizing this need, I took on the role of a pod leader for five elementary school boys, ensuring a successful school year marked by social interaction, team building, and the development of crucial social skills for 6-9 year olds.
Motivated by the desire to continue supporting families, I initiated a COVID-safe 12-week summer camp with diverse themes, curriculums, field trips, and team-building projects. This experience, based in Oakland, allowed me to explore and utilize the wealth of outdoor spaces the area offers.
Having spent the last year and a half in the corporate world, I bring a unique perspective and a set of skills acquired during this time. While my corporate experience has been valuable, I have come to realize that my passion lies in the dynamic and rewarding realm of childcare and household management. Thriving in dynamic environments with multiple responsibilities, my problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and adept prioritization skills have been integral to my success in all these roles.
In the ever-evolving landscape of the last few years, I have honed traits such as fast learning, flexibility, and adaptability, which I consider indispensable in navigating the challenges of today’s world.
Confident in my commitment to making lives easier, coupled with my proven track record in childcare and household management, I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to your team’s success and create a positive impact on the families you serve.
