Hi everyone! My name is Grace, and I am currently attending the Fashion Institute of Technology. Previously I have babysat from time to time with kids from older elementary to middle school. Additionally I spent two of my entire summers in the beautiful woods of North Carolina being a summer counselor for seven weeks.
In my first session I was placed with girls going into second grade for three weeks. In those three weeks I learned so much about patience. What was more challenging about summer camp rather than baby sitting kids in their own homes was that we had no phones or electronics whats-so-ever in the camp, so I had to become creative in keeping the girls entertained especially if we were stuck in the cabin during a thunderstorm. I became super fond and very close with my campers, I loved their imagination and innocence, it really warmed my heart.
In the next session, I worked with 13-year-olds, which was a drastically different experience from working with 8-year-olds. They tested my patience in new ways, but I learned and grew from the experience. The older girls had different needs and challenges, requiring a different approach to supervision and engagement. I found myself acting as a mentor and confidant, helping them navigate the complexities of their pre-teen years. This experience taught me valuable skills in communication, conflict resolution, and adaptability. It was incredibly rewarding to see their growth over the weeks and to know I played a part in their camp experience.
Then in September 2023 I was blessed with a baby nephew and have been spending all sorts of time with him and watching him grow. Each babysitting experience, from summer camps to family, has taught me valuable lessons and strengthened my passion for working with children. I look forward to bringing my creativity, patience, and enthusiasm to any new opportunities that come my way.

Rate: $20/hour – $23/hour
