I have a lot of admiration for the vitality and wonder of children and truly enjoy getting to know each individual child by their unique personality and characteristics. Because my family is very large, I have been watching children since before my teens. I’ve acted as support for my sister and aunts immediately after giving birth to watch the newborn babies into the evening. I also regularly babysit my, now, three and five year old nieces for consecutive days at a time. Although it has been some time since I’ve worked as a babysitter, I did have a wonderful experience babysitting for members of my church over ten years ago. My most recent childcare experiences are with children from my own family.
I believe that I’m able to connect with children and empathize with their needs. My approach is to keep it light and silly with the occasional firmness when necessary. I’m very detail oriented which is helpful when having to pack for a day trip, follow dietary needs, or any other logistics.
My primary occupation is an Artisan working in metals, fibers, paper, paint, clay, and photography. I have experience working in a range of materials and also enjoy sharing arts and crafts time with children.
