I am starting a PhD in history at Columbia in fall 2023. I will have a flexible schedule and be available on a mix of days, afternoons, and evenings, so I thought this would work well alongside babysitting!

I recently moved to NYC from London, where I spent the last 7 years working in policy analysis and research. I went to college in Edinburgh, Scotland, and before that grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA. I speak fluent Lithuanian, some French, and will be learning Russian language while at Columbia.

I used to babysit toddlers and young children regularly while in high school and college. I’m also getting to an age where I’m starting to have thoughts about starting a family myself, so it would be really valuable expderience for me, too!

In terms of my approach to children, I really value autonomy, creativity, risk-awareness and supported challenge. I come from an international family and background, so I also value worldliness, open-mindedness and curiosity. I am a book worm myself and love reading and generally being intellectually curious with others.

Rate: $20/hour – $25/hour
