Hi my name is Vijay, I’ve been working with kids for most of my life. I’ve been taking care of children in different ways since high school, with age groups primarily from elementary to middle school, and a bit of high school as well, though I will be comfortable with younger age groups.
I have experience in primary child care, what would be considered just normal baby sitting, where I mostly watch the kids, make sure they do what they need to get done for school/extracurriculars, and ensure they are fed, entertained, and cared for. Additionally, I have 8 younger nieces and nephews, so while not paid, I do have a boatload of additional childcare experience under my belt in just watching and caring for multiple kids at a time in hectic environments.
On top of that, I also have 6 years of experience as a paid tutor in many subjects ranging from math, science, and language arts all the way to standardized test prep, for children from elementary to high school. So if I have an idea of what your child is learning at the time/their curriculum, I will definitely be able to provide assistance in that area as well and guide them on their academic journey. I can both aid with homework help as well as try my best to explain concepts that they may be failing to grasp.
Finally, for where this may apply, I do also have a decent bit of experience working with special needs children. I worked in afterschool special needs care in high school where I did teach and provide care for primarily middle school and high school aged special needs children. To add to that, I also volunteered for Special Strides, a special needs rehabilitation organization, for an extended period of time, so while not an expert, I do have some additional experience in child care for more demanding and needy children.
To end, honestly I just have a great time with children, and it is one of my passions to be able to guide young kids in some of their most developmental years. I will, to the best of my ability, be both engaging and entertaining while not slacking in the disciplinary department in terms of keeping on track with work/responsibilities.
