I have been taking care of my nephew since he was 4 months and he is now 2 years old. I think the most rewarding part about caring for children is fostering relationships with them. Not only did I get a chance to take care of my nephew but also his half-sister, which I consider her, my niece. She is a bright 6 years old and from the day I meet her we connected. I think it is very important to listen, absorb and understand a child needs. Yes, it can be challenging when a child consider you a family remember but it is important to set boundaries. I am not only the cool aunt but also the babysitter, who takes care of them and helped them achieve every milestone. From helping her to finish homework and pronounce any words, she does not know to helping my nephew take his first step and saying mama. I really cherish the moments where I can help a child’s growth and become an integral part of their development. These moments remind me continually that caretaking jobs like babysitting are so much deeper than simply watching a child. I want parents to feel as comfortable and confident to trust me to take care of their babies while they are at work.
