Hello, I’m Serena! I’m a current sophomore at Drexel University, studying psychology. I have a passion for working with children and plan to pursue child psychology as a career. I am initially from North Jersey, but am currently in Philly for my education. I have experience volunteering at elementary schools through my high school’s theatre program. I spent about a year volunteering to teach children ranging from ages 4 -15 taekwondo at the taekwondo studio I spent 10 years studying at. I have always been very good at connecting with young kids because of my patient and bubbly personality. My experience working with children through athletics and education has really taught me the importance of being able to provide children with routine in an environment that is both caring and understanding.

Starting in September I will be working with the non profit Squash Smarts, an organization in West Philadelphia that focuses on getting middle school/high school adolescents to be more involved in athletics, while also providing academic support. I will be there part time, however I am looking for a babysitting job to work part time alongside that.

In my free time I love to read. I have always been proficient in most basic school subjects, so if your child needs assistance with homework, I would be happy to help! However, I will admit, english and essay writing of any sort has always been my specialty.

I understand that things can get tough, and children are not easy! My goal is to not only watch your children, but create a trusting and less stressful environment for the family as a whole. Every child deserves to have a good support system, and this is something I have always felt very passionate about.
