My name is Vicki, a mom of two, 11 and 15 years old. I come from a large family of 9 boys and 5 girls. As early as 7 years old I have been providing care not only for the children around me but the family as a whole. I like to say I was a mother before I was a mother. I cook, clean, and tend to any other household needs. I have great time management skills and can easily manage multiple tasks while still being attentive. I enjoy engaging children in educational play and using everyday encounters as a teaching moment for children. I am very patient and I would say that I am excellent at helping children with their emotional regulation and finding ways to clearly express themselves. I love knowing the skills I have can positively impact the growth of the children I get to care for. I also enjoy knowing that the care I provide takes some of the weight off the parents/caregivers. As a parent I know how much a helping hand can be such a relief whether long term or just for a night out. Knowing your child is well cared for allows the parent to fully focus and engage in the tasks they need to.
