Hi, my name is Tru Dabney and I am a current college freshman at American University. During my junior and senior years at Sewickley Academy, I was an After School Program Assistant. Responsibilities included helping students (Pre-K to 5th grade) with their homework, organizing activities, supervising them while at playgrounds, and more. During the summers of 2018 and 2019 I volunteered as a counselor for the Mini Group (3 to 5 year olds) at the St. Philip Church Annual Kidz Kamp. Duties included attending the morning leader meetings, organizing and managing a group of 6-8 campers, leading them through their activities, keeping them focused and engaged, teaching them the Bible lessons each day, as well as working in a responsible manner with several other counselors. Currently, my classes for school are online and take place in the afternoons and evenings so I am available most mornings! I am responsible, reliable, attentive, and patient which would allow me to create a safe and happy environment.
