As the oldest of a large family, I’ve been caring for kids since I was a kid myself. I’ve babysat for many families and friends and enjoy engaging with the energy and imagination of children. I prefer the kid’s table at events, because I love to listen to the way they experience the world.

I’m interested in psychology and childhood development, and have read a handful of books to gain insight into how to best communicate with and support young children. In highschool I was a camp counseler for middle schoolers and volenteered with church youth programs.

While I haven’t yet babysat in a professional capacity, throughout my life I have gained valuable experience in caring for and teaching children. My favorite childhood memories include reading and telling stories to my younger siblings, making crafts and playing with them, and teaching them various skills including writing, drawing, cooking, and organizing.

I believe that the most important aspects of childcare are fostering kindness, encouraging creativity, and communicating with empathy and curiosity.
