For more than 30 years Gateway-Longview’s Niagara Day Care Center has provided quality day care and early childhood education programs for families in Erie County. The day care provides full-time and part-time care for almost 100 children from six weeks of age up to 12-years-old.

Gateway-Longview’s Niagara Day Care Center’s specialized programs include …

An Infant Program for babies ages six weeks to 18 months. Independence and exploration are encouraged to stimulate and support baby’s growth into a toddler. The Toddlers and Twos Program is for children approximately 18 to 30-months-old. Music art and educational activities are utilized to encourage the child’s social language and physical development. A Preschool Program for 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 year-olds and our Pre-Kindergarten class for ages 3 1/2 to 5 year-olds prepares children for the classroom. These programs utilize a hands-on approach to build each child’s self-awareness and self-esteem while emphasizing kindergarten and classroom readiness. The School Age Program provides activities for children ages 5 to 12-year-olds both before and after school. This program utilizes activities that promote social and educational development. Opportunities for completion of homework are also provided and computers are available for use by the children.

Breakfast lunch and snacks meet New York State Health Department nutrition requirements. Rest time outdoor and indoor activities are also included every day.

Staff requirements include …

The completion of 15 hours of training each year. A minimum Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Early Childhood Education/Child Development an Associate’s Degree (AAS) in Child Development or its equivalent or a Child Development Associate Credential and prior experience in childcare.
