The University of Virginia Academic Division operates two child care facilities. Our Child Development Center located on Copeley Road serves children ages two through prekindergarten. Our second Child Development Center, located on Earhart Street, serves children from infancy through the toddler years. The University of Virginia Child Development Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). We strive to create an enriched, stable learning environment. Most children enroll in the fall semester and will remain in their classroom for the entire year. We find that this creates strong relationships between the teachers and children, and that the children are building lasting friendships. This drives teachers to transition their classrooms to meet the needs of the children as they develop physically, emotionally, and cognitively.
