Broadwater Academy, founded in 1966 and located on Virginias Eastern Shore, is a college-preparatory, co-educational day school for students in Grades Pre-Kindergarten through Twelve. Broadwater is accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Schools (VAIS) and is recognized as an accredited school by the Virginia Board of Education. Broadwater currently serves 388 students and combines challenging academics with the arts, athletics, and community service. Broadwater is committed to developing respectful, intellectual leaders.

Broadwater Academy is a coeducational college-preparatory day school with grades Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. It is an independent nonprofit institution under the direction of a self-perpetuating Board of Trustees. Broadwater admits children of any race, religion, color, and ethnic origin.
The primary criterion for admission is that a student be able to experience academic and personal success in the schools environment. Desiring students from diverse backgrounds and being cognizant of the Shores economy, Broadwater makes every effort to keep tuition levels affordable and to make financial aid available on a need basis.
Broadwater Academy exists to provide students with an education that emphasizes learning skills, physical skills, and ethical conduct in a caring and stable environment. The academic program is traditional and accelerated. Opportunities are provided for participation in athletics, the arts, community service, and additional extracurricular activities.
Academic and nonacademic programs are offered in an atmosphere of caring, working relationship among students, faculty, administrators, alumni, family, and friends. These programs are designed to develop students who have self-discipline and self-confidence, as well as a love of learning, a personal sense of honor, a desire for excellence, a positive work ethic, and a sense of compassion for all individuals.
