Forest Park Montessori has grown and changed with our community, and we are proud to have served the children of Forest Park,
Oak Park and River Forest for these many years!
Goals of the Forest Park Montessori Child Development Center
We believe that parents and the environment they create at home are the chief educational influences in the life of the child. As a school we want to be with you in discovering who your child is, and what are his/her needs as he/she enters into the adventures of life. It is our goal to help your child become a creative, competent human being, who is fully aware of him/herself, of others, and of the world around him/her.
Other goals include love of learning, self-motivationreased self-esteem, persistence and concentration, habits of inner discipline and order.
To realize these goals, we have to create at Forest Park Montessori a place where children can be themselves in an atmosphere of freedom and responsibility. It is a place where little ones will come joyfully and become absorbed and interested in their learning.
Parents are brought into this atmosphere as much as possible through a host of interesting activities. Often friendships made in this “family” will last a lifetime. Please accept this invitation to join us in this educational adventure.
The educational policies of the school are the responsibilities of the Educational Director, Marian Zeidman. It is her task to give guidance and inspiration to the faculty. She is ready to answer parent inquiries and welcomes the many visitors who are interested in our programs and wish to observe the classes in action.
Code of Ethics of AMS
We are affiliated with the American Montessori Society (AMS). As American Montessori Society members, we pledge to conduct ourselves professionally and personally in ways that we will reflect our respect for each other and for the children we serve. We will do whatever is within our talents and capacity to protect the rights of each child to have the freedom and opportunity to develop his full potential without regards to race, sex, creed or national origin.
Forest Park Montessori Administration and Staff
The school’s Director is Marian Zeidman. Our staff and school is fully accredited by the State of Illinois, and the lead instructor in each program has the requisite Montessori training to plan the program and to direct the activities of the associate staff members.

Philosophy
The Montessori environment is designed to stimulate the child’s natural interests. Children are nurtured and taught respect, love and co-operation. Differences are appreciated as children progress and learn about the world around them.
