Hampton Montessori School is located at 225 Chapel Street in historic downtown Hampton, Virginia. It began as a fully owned subsidiary of the Peninsula Montessori School, Inc. In 1985, Hampton Montessori School was incorporated with all assets and contracts transferred from Peninsula Montessori School.
Hampton Montessori School is a non-profit, non-political, non-religious, racially non-discriminatory, and designated as a non-stock corporation. The business and affairs are managed and controlled by a Board of Directors. The corporation is established to organize, sustain, and direct classroom education for children in accordance with the basic principals of Dr. Maria Montessori, known as the Montessori Method.
Hampton Montessori School is licensed by the state of Virginia. All our teachers have bachelor’s degrees and carry diplomas from the American Montessori Society or Association Montessori International. Our Assistants have been trained in the Montessori philosophy and have had several years of working in a Montessori school.
