Center in Jacksonville, FL 32209
In January 2010 the Jacksonville Urban League began implementing plans for its new Early Head Start (JUL EHS) Program. Early Head Start is a new early childhood and family-focused initiative in the Jacksonville community. The program is specifically funded to service families who live in New Town and the 32209 zip code. These families must meet the Federal Income Guidelines and have a child or children between the ages of birth to three years old. Services are also provided for pregnant women who reside within the same zip code.
The Early Head Start program provides three service options for families who qualify. The first option is a home-based parenting and activities program for children ages birth to twelve months. The second option is a center-based program for children between the ages of twelve months to three years old. And the third option is a home-based support services program for pregnant women. Center-based services are provided within our two Early Head Start locations: Edward Waters College campus – 1626 Grunthal Street and our Pearson Head Start/Early Head Start Center – 1314 Union Street.
