Winborn Elementary YMCA

Winborn Elementary is known for its academic excellence doing what’s best for children and its warm and caring atmosphere. It opened in 1981 though originally as Williamsburg Settlement Elementary and was renamed in honor of founding principal Diane Winborn after her death in 1992.

The DWE motto on the cafeteria wall states “How High I Go How Far I See How High I Soar Depends On Me.” This philosophy guides teachers to design and implement programs based on student needs and is the standard that inspires all students to reach the high expectations held for them. Data-driven key initiatives identified in the Campus Improvement Plan are monitored and evaluated by staff and the Campus Advisory Team.
