Our goal is to provide a safe warm comfortable environment in which each child can build strong positive relationships with the adults and other children around them. Our programs are set up to meet the physical social intellectual and emotional needs of the children in our care. We respect each child as an individual with unique abilities feelings and needs. We strive to develop a positive self-esteem by creating an atmosphere geared toward successful experiences.
Through our programs we emphasize the importance of learning through play. We feel that a child’s early years establish the foundation on which all learning is built and that is why we focus our daily routines on continuing to provide an environment of learning. The children have the opportunity to build with blocks paint draw and color sing and dance share meals and snacks together engage in dramatic play and learn to interact with friends and teachers. All of these activities are based on play which is children’s work.
Our curriculum is flexible enough to allow for individual growth with enough structure to promote cognitive skills language development and self-discipline. This approach accommodates the different rates at which children develop and helps each child develop his or her own unique qualities and character. Developmentally appropriate activities are planned for each group through social cognitive creative language and physical activities. Regardless of their age a child’s day is filled with a healthy mix of learning and play from a variety of indoor/outdoor and/or active/passive activities.
Each room in our center is age appropriate. As children get older they will transition to the next level. We try to make this transition as smooth as possible. Parents are given a packet of information that details important information about the room and children are given the opportunity to visit their new room before the actual move. We encourage parents to observe their children at the center and to communicate regularly and honestly with all center members to ensure that every child enjoys their experience with us.
