Center in Livonia, NY 14487
As students enter 4th grade at RJ Connell Intermediate School the vast intellectual social physical and psychological growth that occurs between childhood and adolescence has begun and our faculty and staff work to address these transitions through classroom experiences. Students in 5th and 6th grade explore the cultures and customs of foreign speaking countries in conjunction with their social studies curriculum. Health class begins in 5th and 6th grade to address the changes adolescents are facing both physically and emotionally. The continuation of Everyday Math program navigates updated approaches to math solving procedures while science includes a combination of content area and hands-on lab time. Scholastic Literacy is the ELA program used in grades 4-6. Students are also supported at their individual reading levels through guided reading groups.
Basics are enhanced by co-curricular activities such as band chorus clubs and intramural sports. These skills and experiences are then broadened by visiting artists and field trips during the school year. Throughout these formative years students build lasting relationships that follow them through their transitions through Junior High School Senior High School and beyond.
The Intermediate School teachers have the option of creating individual classroom pages which are accessible off campus through the Livonia Central School website. The teacher’s home pages are designed and maintained by the individual teacher and any comments and questions pertaining to those pages should be directed to the individual teacher.
