Destinia Academy of the Arts is a Community Based Organization that integrates a Performing Visual and Media Arts curriculum with Academic Enrichment Socialization and Recreation. We have partnered with The Mount Vernon and Yonkers School District to open the school doors to provide a “Safe Haven” for children between the ages of 4 and 12 during the hours of 3pm-6pm as part of an After-School program that will be offered beginning in September 21 2009 and ending in June 18 2010. This facility is authorized to administer over-the-counter topical ointments only

It is our philosophy that children learn best through participation in activities that encourage exploration and discovery. Our staff of NYS Certified Teachers College Interns and High School Students will help to bridge the learning gap and ultimately increase your child’s overall academic performance. Our activities will promote development in all areas of social relations creative expression language proficiency logic literacy and problem-solving skills.
