The Brookville Center for Children’s Services (formerly the Marcus Avenue Early Childhood Developmental Program ) was established in 1975 and continues today to serve families and children with and without special needs through a variety of programs services and intervention strategies. Affiliated with both AHRC Nassau and the North Shore-LIJ Health System the Program offers Day Care services Early Intervention Special Education Preschool programs with both full and part-time schedules and is also a New York State approved evaluation site for both New York City and Nassau County. Our curriculum incorporates the New York State Learning Standards and we employ the contemporary inclusion educational model in all aspects of the Program.
Our goal is to create a fun-filled learning atmosphere through play and new experiences so that the children enjoy themselves and other children. Activities such as language-based groups arts and crafts computers music and movement sensory and structured/directed play socialization and physical education including gross and fine motor interactions are utilized to stimulate overall development. This facility is authorized to administer medications
