The New Rochelle Day Nursery

The New Rochelle Day Nursery is a non-profit organization licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The Nursery was established in 1895 to meet the needs of working parents or those pursuing further education. The New Rochelle Day Nursery is proud to be the first day care center licensed in New York State. Parents are encouraged to attend workshops parent meetings and special events which occur throughout the year. Workshops are designed to inform parents of current trends in parenting skills and other important related social issues. A parent representative is on the Board of Directors.

Volunteers are an integral part of the New Rochelle Day Nursery community. They provide reading hours mentoring office and class assistance. The Board of Directors of the New Rochelle Day Nursery are members of the community who are elected for a specific term and who serve uncompensated. The Board of Directors oversees all the business and affairs of the Day Nursery. This facility is authorized to administer medications
