Henry Street Settlement P.S. 134

Every month students in the after-school programs at P.S. 110 and 301 Henry Street host a fundraiser to help pay for holiday celebrations and support the Turning Points Store where participants “shop” for prizes with points they’ve earned for good behavior. Last month for Halloween two kindergarten classes came up with a creative idea: prepare and auction off gruesome baked goods.

For the inaugural Gruesome Cake Auction after-school students and Henry Street staff bought and baked cakes and cupcakes and together made them as frightening as possible adding worms eyeballs skeletons and other creepy decorations. About 20 families attended the auction helping the students raise more than more than $300 for their programs. This facility is authorized to administer over-the-counter topical ointments only
