YMCA of Newburgh Y-Scoop at Fostertown School

The role of the Parent Teacher Club (PTC) is diverse. We help familiarize parents with Fostertown School and its programs as well as supporting family involvement in the overall educational experience of each child. To further this cause much of the PTCs efforts involve fundraising activities the proceeds of which directly benefit our children.

In the past Fostertowns PTC has made many physical improvements to the school and provided much needed educational materials. With limited school budgets items deemed extravagant i.e. air-conditioning throughout the building state-of-the-art playground equipment stage curtains and musical instruments would not have been provided for our children. Parent participation and support have made these quality of life conveniences possible. Another area that the funds raised by the PTC are crucial is to help fund our schools theme Education Through Creativity (ETC). The PTC provides thousands of dollars to pay for play rights costumes sets microphones and more which are not funded by the district. We also sponsor fun activities such as Field Day BINGO Nights Movie Nights Spring Fair and much more. This facility is authorized to administer over-the-counter topical ointments only
