Our goal is to provide children with an ideal environment for optimal development. Emotional development is a priority and to that end, we help children build confidence and understand themselves. We encourage children to express their thoughts and feelings, and teach them to manage their impulses. We provide opportunities for intellectual and cognitive development, including language competencies. More advanced intellectual concepts are introduced as the children are ready to meet those challenges.

Our fully accredited school, licensed by the State of New Jersey, has operated since 1957. Congregation Agudath Israel Early Childhood Center has earned a well-deserved reputation as one of the finest schools in the West Essex area. A wide array of activities, Jewish holiday celebrations, and parent education programs are offered. We have nearly 150 students each year, and expect that number to continue to grow with our newly launched Extended Day Option.

Our Extended Day will provide families with the flexibility they need to provide their children with an enriching Jewish education, while able to accommodate their busy schedules.

Special Needs:
We believe that pre-school age children have a wide variety of needs and abilities. We strive to meet these diverse needs in many ways.
Some of the children who attend our nursery school receive private or early intervention services such as speech, occupational and physical therapies. Our director and teachers can coordinate with outside doctors, therapists, and teachers to strategize and implement tools that will help children achieve success and happiness in the classroom.
For parents who have concerns about their child's development, our director is available for consultation, extensive referrals and resources, and to initiate on-site screenings.
Our teachers and staff receive training in recognizing developmental issues as well as techniques to address particular needs in the classroom. Additionally, our on-staff social worker and nurse provide support and counseling to parents as well as programming events concerning child development and parenting skills.
