CASPER (Carver After School Program for Education and Recreation) serves elementary students at the Carver Center site. This is one of the most affordable options for Norwalk parents and is headed by a certified teacher. The program is licensed by CT Department of Health. The program gives elementary school children grades K-5 a safe, secure, after school environment, and social and recreational skills. C.A.S.P.E.R. students participate in tutoring, structured recreation, socialization, and enrichment activities during the school year. Dr. Elena Levy of the University of Connecticut runs a reading program for every participating student. Each student receives an hour and a half of reading of one-on-one and group reading each week. The CASPER Program Manager works collaboratively with the school administrators and teachers to monitor reading levels and grades.
