Welcome to West Louisville Elementary, a National Blue Ribbon School.

Along with our entire faculty and staff I would like to thank you for allowing us to spend our days with your child.

West Louisville Elementary, along with the support of our parents and the community, pride ourselves on a continued, consistent, tradition of academic excellence.

West Louisville offers self-contained classrooms with cross-age/cross-grade grouping, which includes preschool, kindergarten, vocal music, physical education, library, guidance, technology. The GEM Program, LD Program, MD Program, Speech and Language Program, Math Recovery, Reading Recovery and the Title I program are all taught by certified teachers, who work to serve individual student needs. The Bridgeway Resource Center provides services to our families. West Louisville has both academic and attendance incentive programs. Parent volunteers and the staff developer work diligently with the teaching staff to provide the best academic experiences for all students. Extracurricular opportunities include: Academic Team, fifth-grade girls dance team, bell choir, cross country club, cheerleading team, vocal music and theater, Walking Club, Extended School and an After-School Program. Parent involvement opportunities include a School-Based Decision Making Council, which meets monthly; volunteer program; and monthly PTO meetings and scheduled student performances.
