When the state of California began using the Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) accountability system in 1999, the Academic Performance Index (API) goal was a score of 800+ for every school. The goal has not changEducation If a school has an API score of 800 or higher, the state considers it to be a High Performing School. I am honored and proud to announce, Winifred Pifer School has a 2010 API score of 811. From the inception of the STAR, Winifred Pifer School has grown 143 points. The schools 2009 API base score was 784. On the 2010 California Standardized Test (CST), Winifred Pifer School gained 27 points to surpass the 800 threshold and be touted as a High Performing School.
