The Montessori Learning Center

environment; guided by the Montessori Philosophy of
observing the individual child and his/her needs and
structuring the environment accordingly.
The Montessori Learning Center is located at 3612 Union Road in South St. Louis County. We are approximately two tenths of a mile north of South County Shopping Center. Since the school is located in the downstairs addition of a private home, it provides the young child a smooth transition from their home to the school environment. Our hours of operation are 7:00AM to 6:00PM. Children are accepted for five full days, or five half days. The half day hours are 9:00AM to 11:45AM. We have two classrooms; each is staffed by certified Montessori teachers and trained assistants who provide guidance for the students. The Montessori Learning Center is an affiliate of the American Montessori Society. The school is also licensed by the State of Missouri for children three through six years of age. All children must be toilet trained. Our classrooms contain a wide variety of Montessori equipment for each of the five areas (Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, Language and Culture). A fenced yard, playground and garden area is adjacent to the school. The children receive snacks in the morning and afternoon and full day children receive a hot lunch.
