Creative Playtime at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church

Creative Playtime is located in a residential neighborhood bordering Eastchester and Scarsdale. It was established in 1981 as an outreach program of Grace Lutheran Church.

Creative Playtime provides half-day sessions for children ages 2 to 4 years old. Lunch Bunch and the Extended-Day plans are available for 3 and 4 year olds. The school year runs from mid-September until early June. An ease-in schedule aids children in separating.

We are a New York State Licensed facility which was granted in 1994 by the Office of Children and Family Services. The school is also inspected annually to meet the requirements for a safe child care center.

In 2011 Creative Playtime will celebrate its 30th Anniversary continuing the tradition of a caring and educational environment for children.

The staff at Creative Playtime is qualified and professional providing a nurturing environment. Staff attend annual conferences and workshops sponsored by the Westchester Association for the Education of Young Children (WAEYC). They participate in on-going training in the field of early education. The Director reports to the Creative Playtime School Board.

Creative Playtimes curriculum is developmental and age-appropriate. It is designed to foster childrens growth by stimulating their curiosity and challenging their mental and physical needs. We encourage social skills promote language and the building of self-esteem while respecting each childs uniqueness as individuals. Their development is enriched through books music art cooking and dramatic play.

Our classrooms are large cheerful and air-conditioned; while the outside playground is fenced-in and boasts a safe cushioned surface. This facility is authorized to administer over-the-counter topical ointments only
