It has come to my attention that some of our students may have been playing a game which
requires holding their breath for as long as possible. Since this could result in fainting or worse
some members of our Crisis Team have spoken with the fourth and fifth grade students to explain
why they should never play this game and to raise their awareness of the dangers involved. We
visited individual fourth and fifth grade classrooms and shared the importance of avoiding this
kind of behavior. We also discussed simple strategies to handle this kind of situation.
We recognize and value the importance of your role in explaining these kinds of behaviors to
your children and hope that you will follow up with this conversation at home.
Our school psychologist and social worker are available at school so if you have particular
concerns about your child please contact one of them or your childs classroom teacher. This facility is authorized to administer medications
