Alleghany Developmental Day

Easter Seals UCP Childrens Centers are inclusive, serving children from birth through age 5, with or without developmental risks or delays. All centers design and/or implement an appropriate curriculum, maintain compliance with Childcare Regulations, and follow early childhood environment guidelines as described in the ITERS-R and ECERS-R scales. Pediatric Therapies (PT, OT, and Speech) in most cases are provided on site to children eligible for the service. Teachers and teaching assistants must have the NC Early Childhood Credential (or equivalent). The Director and Educational Coordinator must have a four-year degree or higher, preferably in Early Childhood Education, Birth-Kindergarten, Child Development, or related human services field. At minimum, a Teacher must have a four-year degree in a human services field or an Associate degree in a human services field with 2 years experience with the population.
