G.W. Carver Academy After School Program

Communities In Schools Afterschool Program offers afterschool evening weekend and summer services for students parents and community members. Days and times vary by campus. Please contact your local CIS Afterschool site manager for more details.
In collaboration with multiple partners CIS Afterschool offers the following key programs:

• Afterschool Middle School programs: Lake Air University Brazos Cesar Chavez Tennyson and Carver Academy
• Afterschool program at five Waco ISD Elementary Schools: Sul Ross Brook Avenue West Avenue Doris Miller and Provident Heights
• Afterschool program at two Waco ISD High Schools: A.J Moore and University
• Afterschool programs are also available at Marlin Elementary Middle and High Schools as well as La Vega High School
• Weekly and monthly community education programs include: parenting classes family literacy ESL computer training and health fairs

All after-school programs provide:

• An opportunity to participate in positive-choice activities such as art sports games special clubs field trips and other areas of interest
• Easy access to a variety of community support programs such as health and medical services; counseling and communications skills groups; supportive guidance; tutoring and mentoring
• A small snack and transportation home from afterschool program activities

Community education events: one Family Night and one Saturday Event per month.
