The Edward C. Mazique Parent Child Center (ECMPCC) is a non-profit community based organization was initially established in 1964. At the time it was the first and only parent child center in the District of Columbia to provide home based services to pregnant woman and children from birth to age three. And also we were the first infant center in DC and were among the first to serve children with special needs. It continues to be the pioneer Head Start program in the country with a medical clinic as a result of 15-years of partnership with Howard University Hospital and Pediatric residency program. We have developmentally appropriate curriculum and various services thereto which includes crisis intervention, counseling, parenting education, developmental screenings, assessment and treatment as needed and recreational and cultural activities for both parents and children.
