The Mission of The Arc of Palm Beach County is to improve the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families through services education and advocacy.
To accomplish this mission The Arc supports 12 distinct programs throughout Palm Beach County. Last year more than 2000 families were touched by the programs and services offered through The Arc of Palm Beach County.
The Board’s vision is that the Arc be the leader in providing innovative effective properly funding programs which allow children and adults with developmental disabilities to achieve the most enriching and independent lives possible within a supportive community.
Disability Prevention Services: First Step to Success for in-home training of parents of babies with suspected developmental problems; and Learning Together Child Care Center for teen mothers of infants and pre-schoolers.
Respite Services: Short-term care that helps a family of a disabled child to take a break from the stress of their daily routine. Trained caregivers provide both in-home and center-based care.
Potentials Charter School: Integrated therapeutic education combining intensive classroom learning experiences as well as speech occupational and physical therapy for children ages 3 to 10 who are unable to walk
or talk.
Family Support Services: More than 2000 families contact The Arc’s Family Support Service every year to learn about the many public and private services available to their family members with developmental disabilities.
Out-Of-School Programs: Arc’s Out-of-School programs provide rich community-based Recreational Services and a Community Inclusion Program for children with a wide variety of disabilities.
