Bright Beginnings

Bright Beginnings Pre-School Learning Center was conceived and developed in September 1983 by its owners. The School opened its doors at the Yorktown Community and Cultural Center after operating a very successful summer camp program for pre-school children. This was the first pre-school summer camp in the area.

In 1987 Bright Beginnings Pre-School Learning Center received its license from the New York State Department of Social Services. This license enabled the school to operate a day care center on a flexible schedule to allow for the varied needs of our families and their children.

Bright Beginnings Pre-School Learning Center has three centers in Westchester County.

The full day program (for toddlers nursery and kindergarten) is located in the Yorktown Community and Cultural Center (YCCC) 1974 Commerce Street Yorktown Heights New York 10598. The kindergarten program is registered by the New York State Education Department and operates on a full-day schedule.

The toddler morning program is located in the Amawalk Friends Meeting school building on Quaker Church Road.

The morning nursery school program is located in the parish hall of the Church of the Good Shepherd 39 Granite Springs Road Granite Springs New York 10598.

Summer programs take place in the Yorktown and Amawalk locations.

Bright Beginnings Pre-School Learning Centers are owned and administered by Mara S. Ziedins and Evelyn J. Mocbeichel Executive Directors.
