Inhome in Palo Alto, CA 94306
Ohlone Art Camp started at Ohlone Elementary School in 1997 but moved to my studio in my back yard during remodeling at school. It was so successful here at home that I kept the camp here, allowing me to expand the opportunites for children and their art experience. I kept the name because I am sure that Ohlone Indians lived in my neighborhood; I have found arrowheads, bones, and seashells in my yard!
We will create exciting silk painting on beautiful silk scarves; discover the joy of embroidery, also known as painting with thread; make plaster and paper masks; explore color combinations with mosaic tiles; and much more!
Silk painting, embroidery, masks, mosaics and more!
We create ART AL FRESCO under a canopy beneath a huge pepper tree in a garden full of beautiful flowers.
Play with my three very friendly dogs, Sugar, Kita, and Mogley, visit the chicken coop (bring tomatoes, cantalope and lettuce…the Chinese Silkie chickens will be very happy to see you come in and visit!!) perhaps even hold Willy the corn snake! Don’t feel like drawing today? Bring your book and read or visit the vegetable garden! Weed pullers welcome!!
Camp is held in my back yard at 245 Wilton Avenue in Palo Alto.
