Afton Preschool

Our class will provide a balanced range of activities to help children grow and develop. With the supportative care of our teachers, your child will be challenged to learn and improve skills such as listening, sharing, early literacy, pro-social skills and following directions at developmentally appropriate stages.

Our teachers work to nurture your child’s sense of self-esteem and encourage his or her independence. Both class schedules include readiness skills with more emphasis for those children entering kindergarten the following fall.

A typical day’s schedule includes group circle activity, small group writing and art projects, choice time, a snack, music and a story. Part of each day, weather permitting, is spent in spacious outdoor area overlooking the beautiful St. Croix River Valley.

Parents of enrolled children may serve as board members, sub for ill staff, provide snacks, transportation for most field trips, help with fund raising activities and some school maintenance.
