The YWCAs childcare programs are committed to nurturing children, empowering working women and families, and strengthening communities.
The YWCA has been providing quality, affordable childcare throughout the Baltimore metropolitan area since 1981. Structured to meet the needs of working women and their families, our programs include:
Pre-school childcare for children ages two through six in Anne Arundel County Pre-school childcare for children ages six weeks to six years in Baltimore City Head Start programming for children ages three and four in Baltimore City. School-age childcare for children ages 5 through 12 at locations in northern Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Harford County.Licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education
All YWCA childcare programs are licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), ensuring that:
Each center is safe, clean, and appropriate for childcare use, and that it meets all applicable health and fire codes. Each center has an adequate supply of safe and age-appropriate activity equipment and materials. Staff complete criminal background checks and receive physical examinations. Each staff member has completed a specified amount of pre-service education or training in childcare subjects. Staff participate in continuing education. Staff maintain certifications in basic first aid and pediatric CPR.Want more information?
